Cocoon House

Sean served on the Board of Directors for Cocoon House for several years, most recently as the Vice-Chair during the 2016-2017 year. During his board tenure, Sean led the marketing and events committee as they did a major overhaul of all agency branding and marketing avenues. He also served on the Executive Cabinet for Cocoon House's $12.4 million dollar capital campaign to construct a new all-encompassing youth service and housing center. 

The mission of Cocoon House is to empower young people, families, and the community to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing and prevention.  This mission supports the belief that every young person deserves a home and the opportunity to achieve his or her fullest potential. Cocoon House's ultimate vision is to see every young person in our community is safe and thriving. Downtown Everett Association

Sean served on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Everett Association from 2013 to 2018, where he most recently served as the board's Vice-President. 

The Downtown Everett Association (DEA) is committed to advancing and growing Downtown Everett as a vibrant economic, cultural, and governmental center through leadership, advocacy, and the ongoing administration of a business improvement area (BIA). 

The Downtown Everett Association focuses on specific priorities geared toward injecting new life into Everett's historic central core. Our priorities are proven methods for rejuvenating urban areas. Those priorities are: 

 
  • Enhance quality business and commerce

  • Encourage residential development

  • Support long-term parking solutions

  • Create a safe and clean environment

  • Keep members educated and informed

  • Provide representation to media and government

Everett Public Schools

Education is critical to the success of our children and our communities as a whole. Engaged citizens make for better schools and better schools provide better learning opportunities for our kids.

Sean served on the Everett Public Schools Fiscal Advisory Council from 2014-2018. The FAC provides valuable feedback to school administrators as they manage budget and financial forecasts for the largest school district in Snohomish County. Learn more at everettsd.org.


Hands For Peacemaking Foundation

Sean serves on the board of the Everett-based Hands for Peacemaking Foundation. He and several local Rotary members travel annually to Guatemala to build schools in the rural jungle outside of Barillas, Huehuetenango. HFPF's mission is to promote opportunities for self-reliance in rural Guatemala by taking part in many different kinds of projects, each aimed at helping people lift themselves out of poverty. South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club

Sean became a member of the South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club in 2007 and was voted Rookie of the Year in his first year. He has since served on the Board of Directors for the club multiple times, most recently as the 2016-2017, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020 Sergeant At Arms. Sean’s steadfast dedication to ensuring the club continued to run smoothly despite the emergence of a global pandemic earned him the coveted T. Hollister Mabley Rotarian of the Year award in 2020.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Locally, the South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club as a strong history of supporting organizations throughout Snohomish County, including Hand in Hand, Dawson's Place, YWCA, YMCA, Cocoon House, Housing Hope, Imagine Children's Museum, and many more. Learn more at semrotary.org


YMCA of Snohomish County

Here in Snohomish County, the Y has been serving and strengthening our communities since 1901. They've been here through economic booms and busts, wartime and peace, and social upheavals both subtle and life-changing. Their movement is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life, all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income or background, has the opportunity to live life to its fullest.

The Y values caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, and everything they do stems from this. Their staff and volunteers are kids, parents, grandparents, neighbors, and local leaders who are all personally committed to understanding what our neighborhoods need. Together, we use our knowledge to develop stronger, more integrated communities, provide support for people and families, and promote positive change overall.

Sean served on the Board of Directors for the Everett Family YMCA from 2014 through 2016, a pivotal time for the organization as it identified and closed on a future location that will allow the organization to expand its footprint and ability to serve the Everett community for another century.
